Background: The low public awareness on promoting exclusive breastfeeding, and lack of knowledge of the importance of breastfeeding mothers will be one of the factors the low coverage of exclusive breastfeeding. Support midwives to exclusive breastfeeding is very important not only for the baby but also for nursing mothers.
Objective: This study aims to describe the midwife support exclusive breastfeeding in the Village District of Turikale Adatongeng Maros.
Methods: This study is a descriptive study with a sample of 31 people were selected by purposive sampling.
Results: The results showed that in general the respondents said that the midwife does not describe or suggest IMD IMD mothers shortly after birth (67.74%), the midwife explained about exclusive breastfeeding during prenatal respondents (93.55%), the midwife did not explain about the dangers of infant formula given to infants (83.87%), midwives describes how to milk production becomes more (64.52%), the midwife does not explain how to overcome the problems in breast-feeding (67.74%) midwives do not help in dealing with problems that arise when providing ASI (77.42%).
suggestion: It is expected that the midwife can explain the IMD, the dangers of infant formula, milk production became a way for many, ways to overcome the problems in breastfeeding, as well as providing assistance in dealing with problems in breastfeeding.
