Background: Infectious diseases (diarrhea) is one of the direct causes of the problem malnutrition. More than half of the type illness and death among children under five are caused by bacteria that enter the mouth through food, water and dirty hands.
Objective: This study aims to determine how the image nutritional status, diarrhea, hygienic behavior and family healthy infants aged 6-24 months in the Bonto Bunga Village District of Moncongloe Maros.
Methods: This study design used is a descriptive study. Samples were toddlers aged 6-24 months in the Bonto Bunga Village District of Moncongloe Maros as many as 35 people were selected by purposive sampling. Data on the behavior of living clean and healthy families and infectious diarrheal diseases were collected using interviews with the respondents (maternal samples) with a questionnaire instrument. Assessment of nutritional status by anthropometry is performed measurements of weight, height and determine the age.
Results: The results of this study showed that the nutritional status according to the index picture of weight/age is generally normal as many as 21 people (60%), while according to the index weight/height is generally normal as many as 24 people (68.6%). For an overview of infectious diseases (diarrhea) obtained results were 11 persons (31.4%) infants were never sick with diarrhea in the last 1 month and 24 people (68.6%) had no diarrhea. To illustrate the behavior of clean and healthy families result obtained by 29 people (82.9%) less and 6 (17.1%) either.
Conclusion: Conclusion of this study are generally good nutritional status, disease infectious diarrhea in children in the last 1 month are generally less and hygienic behavior and healthy families are generally still lacking
Suggestion: It is suggested to provide information on healthy living behaviors to mothers family households, either directly or indirectly from related personnel.
