Background: obesity is defined as a situation where there is accumulation of excess body fat so far above normal weight. Balanced diet is a diet that meets the diverse nutritional needs in accordance with general guidelines balanced nutrition. Obesity occurs because of imbalance between energy intake and expenditure.
Objective: This study aims to describe the patterns of adolescent obesity on knowledge of a balanced diet in SMP 30 Makassar.
Mhetods: Type of research used a descriptive survey research approach. Sampling taken by purposive sampling of students who meet the criteria for obesity by 70 people.
Result: The results of this study indicate that the 12-year-olds less knowledge of 8 persons (11.4%), 13 years less than 15 people (21.4%), 14 years less by 28 people (28.8%), 15 years A total of 2 (2.9%). For sex man whose knowledge is less that 28 people (40%) and a source of information about a balanced diet most teenagers know via the Internet at 27 people (38.6%), while adolescents who have never heard or read that 3 people (4.3%).
Sugesstion: for students who are obese are advised to reproduce much physical activity reduces the size of the meal, increasing the consumption of foods containing fat and calories.
