HUBUNGAN KEBIASAAN MAKAN DENGAN TINGKAT KECUKUPAN ENERGI DAN PROTEIN MAHASISWA JURUSAN GIZI POLTEKKES MAKASSAR

Abstract

 

Background: Hard activity and social life of university student greatly affect his behavior, specially food habits, like eating unregularly, not breakfast, or even lunch and diner together. So it can cause lack of energy intake. When energy is less, then the more protein is broken down into energy. Therefore, the application needs to be right food habits for enough energy and protein intake.

Objectives: to determine the relation of food habits with adequacy of energy and protein level nutrition student of Politeknik Kesehatan Makassar.

Methods: This research is analytic. There are 47 subject were selected by cluster sampling. Food habits obtained from Food Frequency Quesionary which is then processed by summing the scores of each item of food and then compared with the average score of the total score of the whole subject. adequacy of energy and protein levels obtained through a 2×24 hour recall are then processed by software Nutrisurvei 2004 compared with AKG. Relationships between variables are known through the chi square test. The data presented by frequency distribution tables and narrative.

Result: The results showed that 40.4% subjects food habits are good, and 59.6% less. 34.0% energy adequacy level is sufficient, and 66.0% less. 80.9% protein adequacy level is sufficient, and 19.1% less. The results of statistical tests between the variables of food habits with adequate energy and protein levels showed that there was no significant association.

Conclusions: there is no relationship between food habits with adequate energy and protein levels.
