HUBUNGAN POLA ASUH DAN ASUPAN ZAT GIZI PADA BADUTA STUNTING DAN ATAU WASTING DI KELURAHAN ALLEPOLEA KECAMATAN LAU KABUPATEN MAROS

Abstract

Background: Undernutrition (stunting and wasting) is one of the factors of most of the morbidity and mortality events in Indonesia, especially children Maros city with 11.4% incidence of wasting and stunting of 15.8%. One of the causes of Undernutrition on baduta nutrient intake that is less and less appropriate parenting. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of parenting and nutrient intake in children of stunting and wasting in the village Allepolea, sub lau, Maros.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of pattern parenting and nutrient intake in children of stunting and wasting in the village Allepolea, sub Lau, Maros.

Methods: This research is analytic. Samples amounted to 37 people chosen by purposive sampling. Examined nutrient intake of energy and protein was obtained from the nutrient intake recall 2×24 hours. Nutritional status was obtained from anthropometric measurements. To determine the relationship between variables Chi Square test.

Results: The results showed that the number of children in Sub Allepolea wasting is 20 people (54.1%) while the child stunting are 18 people (48.6%). The results of the analysis of parenting variables with the incidence of wasting indicates p value = 0.295, parenting with the incidence of stunting p = 0.909, wasting energy intake with the incidence of p = 0.211, energy intake with stunting keadian ie p = 0.13 and protein intake with the incidence of wasting namely p = 0.02 and protein intake with the incidence of stunting is p = 0.420.

Conclusion: Concluded that research parenting and nutrient intake showed no significant relationship with the incidence of wasting or stunting

Suggestion:  is recommended for mothers with pattern parenting less to improve parenting, starting from attention to nutrient intake of children, and child care needs, because parenting is one of the factors that may affect the nutritional status of children
