PENGETAHUAN GIZI IBU, POLA MAKAN DAN STATUS GIZI ANAK SEKOLAH DASAR DESA BOJO KABUPATEN BARRU

Abstract

Background: Nutrition is an important factor and must be owned by the mother because it could affect food consumption in children. A healthy diet for children can be trained through habituation in the family. Riskesdas 2010 showed that the prevalence of primary school pupils at the national level are classified as lean and obese based on index BMI / U is 7.6% and 9.2%.

Objectives: This study aims to describe maternal nutrition knowledge, dietary and nutritional status of primary school students in the village of the District Bojo Mallusetasi Barru.

Methods: The research is a survey research with a analitic approach. Samples are elementary school students grade 3 and 4 as many as 91 people and respondents are mother students. Data and sample characteristics of respondents, knowledge mother and child’s diet, obtained through interviews using questionnaires, while data on child nutritional status is obtained by anthropometric measurements.

Results: The results showed that the mother’s level of knowledge of good category as much as 67%, a child’s eating good category as much as 60% and nutritional status according to BMI/U normal as much as 90%. No related the mother’s of education and children nutritional status. The mother’s level knowledge are related child’s eating good but no related with nutritional status

Conclusion: Mothers are advised to maintain knowledge about nutrition, diet of children, and the nutritional status of children.
